From Washington to Massachusetts, kids everywhere are falling into a deep read!



Thea from Harrisonburg, VA, has settled down with her bear (who is looking on behind her) to read Judy Moody by Megan McDonald.

Topher, age 4, from snowy Kodiak, Alaska, has curled up in this cozy blanket and fallen into a DEEP READ.


Reading rocks! Will, age 9, has fallen into a DEEP READ perched on top of this rock in Waynesburg, PA. He’s reading Geronimo Stilton by Elisabetta Dami.
Malcolm, age 8, has fallen into a DEEP READ at his favorite coffee shop in Ipswich, MA.  He’s reading Treaties, Trenches, Mud, and Blood by Nathan Hale.
Lucy, 6, from Poulsbo, WA, fell into a DEEP READ while waiting for the turkey to cook this Thanksgiving.  She’s reading the graphic novel, Bone by Jeff Smith.
At the airport waiting to leave Ipsiwch, MA to visit his cousins for a holiday, 10-year old Peter has opened Harry Potter (by J.K. Rowling) and fallen into a DEEP READ.
E reading Penderwicks
E, almost 12, has fallen into a DEEP READ in this mossy Washington forest. She’s reading aloud from one of her favorite books, The Penderwicks, by Jeanne Birsdsall.


Nyah, 7 years old, from Louisiana, has fallen into a deep read!  Her book is Mummies in the Morning by Mary Pope Osborne.  Sounds spooky, Nyah!

Anette, 9, from Virginia Beach, VA, has fallen into a DEEP READ.  Cozy as a cat in front of the fire, she is reading Chi’s Sweet Home by Konami Kanata.
Bea and Mei
Bea and Mei, both 9, have fallen into a DEEP READ.  Many wild things crawl about this Pacific Northwest forest, roaring their terrible roars and some of them are in this classic book by Maurice Sendak.



Eight-year old Sebastian, five-year old brother Pip, and Opus the dog have fallen into a DEEP READ.  Here nestled under the stairs in the House with the Purple Doors in Goshen, IN, they are reading Roller Girl by Victoria Jamieson.

Oliver, 4, from Waco, TX, has opened Dr. Suess’ One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, and plunged into a DEEP READ.  (Check out how his pajamas match his book!  Oliver must love fish!)  The second photo reminds us that kids have fallen into a deep read for centuries–Oliver is reading in a one-room-school house!  Fantastic!


Merry, 15, from Poulsbo, WA, has fallen into a DEEP READ.  She’s reading Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice again and loving every word!
Solo, 9, from Kingston, WA, has fallen into a DEEP READ! His book: The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick.
