It is a great privilege to meet and work with young writers!  I believe writing and reading is vital to the success and joy of every student, and so I work with you to tailor each visit, presentation, or workshops to your specific needs and hopes.  Visits can range from an hour to several days–it’s up to you!  If budget is an issue, please contact me.  We’ll talk!  I am committed to spreading the love of reading and writing in schools!

Readings at bookstores that carry my books are free.

I prearrange sales with students through teachers and administration.  I inscribe each book with with a personalized message where possible!

School Presentation/Workshop rates (classroom, library, assembly) generally run about $100.00 per hour for local venues.  Again, if your school budget for visits is slim or nonexistent, let me know and we’ll work something out!

Schools out of state or two or more hours away–500.00/day, plus travel expenses.  I bring autographed copies of Reading Beauty for purchase.  If several schools in one geographical area agree to consecutive Author Visits, we can work out discounts!

I prefer to negotiate rates and schedules at least one month in advance.  If appropriate, I send student packets to teachers and librarians ahead of scheduled visits.
